Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2026
By accessing or using Clear Budget, you agree to these Terms of Use.
Service Provider
Clear Budget is operated by Tanguy Lepage, Entrepreneur individuel (EI), operating under the French micro-entreprise regime, with professional address 47 rue Vivienne, 75002 Paris, France.
SIREN: 130 802 085. SIRET: 130 802 085 00014. APE/NAF: 62.01Z — Programmation informatique. Email: hello@myclearbudget.app.
Eligibility and Use of the Service
Clear Budget is a general-purpose budgeting and calculation tool. You may use it only where you are legally able to agree to these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with applicable law.
Public Calculator Use
The public Calculator is free to use without an account. Entries made in the public Calculator are temporary and are not saved to a Clear Budget account. They are kept separate from authenticated Workspace budgets.
User Accounts
A free account is optional. Creating an account lets you use the personal Workspace and automatically save your budget to your account so it can be restored across sessions and devices.
You may need to provide an email address to create an account. Optional information such as a display name or profile picture may also be provided.
Account Credentials and Security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact Clear Budget promptly.
User-Provided Budget Information and Automatic Saving
When you use the Workspace, the budget information you enter is automatically saved to your account. This may include income entries, expense entries, goals, savings, investments, amounts, frequencies, notes, currencies, budget preferences and projection settings.
You are responsible for the information you enter. Clear Budget stores this information to save and restore your Workspace budget.
User Responsibility for Entered Information
Calculations depend on the information and assumptions you enter. You are responsible for reviewing your entries and for any decisions you make based on the results.
Acceptable Use
Users may not intentionally misuse, damage, disrupt, interfere with or attempt unauthorized access to Clear Budget or its underlying systems. You may not use Clear Budget for any unlawful purpose.
No Financial Advice
Clear Budget is a budgeting and calculation tool, not a financial advisor. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice.
Information and calculations provided by Clear Budget should not be interpreted as professional advice or as a recommendation to make any particular financial decision.
Calculator Results
Clear Budget aims to provide useful calculations based on the information entered by users.
Results may depend on conversion methods, assumptions, rounding and information supplied by the user.
Clear Budget does not guarantee that calculations, projections, exchange rates, data storage or service availability will always be error-free or uninterrupted.
Users are responsible for reviewing their information and making their own financial decisions.
Availability and Changes to Features
Clear Budget may add, remove, modify or update website features at any time.
Continuous or uninterrupted availability of the website is not guaranteed.
Clear Budget Plus Subscription
Clear Budget Plus is an optional paid digital subscription that adds features to the free Clear Budget service, including multiple budgets, Upcoming transactions, Cash-Flow Calendar, Cash-Flow Forecast, and Current & Projected Wealth.
Prices and billing
Clear Budget Plus is offered at USD $4.99 per month or USD $39.99 per year. The selected plan, price and billing frequency are shown on the Pricing page and again on the Stripe-hosted checkout page before payment. The subscription is recurring: it renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected) until you cancel. Payment is processed by Stripe, our payment service provider.
Duration and renewal
The subscription begins when payment is confirmed and remains active for the billing period you selected. It automatically renews for an equal period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation
You can cancel your Clear Budget Plus subscription at any time, online, through your Clear Budget account. The “Cancel plan” option in your Account page opens a Stripe-hosted Customer Portal where you confirm the cancellation. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period, and you retain access to Clear Budget Plus until that date. You can also manage your payment method and switch between monthly and annual billing through the same Stripe-hosted portal. No telephone or postal cancellation is required.
Right of withdrawal
Under applicable consumer law, you may have a right to withdraw from this distance subscription within 14 days of subscribing without giving reasons. However, because Clear Budget Plus is a digital service delivered online, and because you expressly consent to its immediate performance before payment, your right of withdrawal is lost once the service has begun, to the extent permitted by applicable law. The express consent and acknowledgement you provide before checkout is described below. This does not affect your statutory rights where the service is defective or not provided in conformity with the contract.
Immediate performance — express consent
Before initiating payment for Clear Budget Plus, you are asked to expressly consent to the immediate start of the service and to acknowledge that, once performance has begun, you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal. This consent is collected through an explicit checkbox that must be checked before the checkout button is enabled. If you do not wish to consent, do not proceed with the purchase.
Statutory consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable mandatory law, including the French Consumer Code. Where a statutory right applies, it prevails over any inconsistent term here. Clear Budget does not provide any commercial guarantee for Clear Budget Plus beyond the service described in these Terms.
Refunds
Payments already made are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, contact hello@myclearbudget.app.
Applicable law and disputes
These Terms and any Clear Budget Plus subscription are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the operator may be contacted at hello@myclearbudget.app to seek an amicable resolution before any legal action.
Account Deletion and Termination
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your saved Workspace budget and account information. Clear Budget may suspend or terminate access where these Terms are violated or to protect the service.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the Clear Budget name, website, original content, calculator implementation, branding and original design elements are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Third-Party Services
Clear Budget may use or link to third-party websites, products or services, including hosting, infrastructure, analytics and advertising providers.
Clear Budget is not responsible for the content, availability, policies or practices of those third parties.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Clear Budget is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Clear Budget is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of, or reliance on, the service or its calculations.
Relationship to the Privacy Policy
These Terms work alongside the Clear Budget Privacy Policy, which describes how information is handled. Your use of Clear Budget is also subject to that Privacy Policy.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Use may be updated periodically.
The latest version will be published on this page with its revision date.
